Calm by Default
Minimize unnecessary interruption, visual overload, and pressure.
An independent mobile OS initiative
AmeronOS is an independent mobile operating-system initiative from Ameron LLC focused on digital well-being, privacy, predictive empathy, mental clarity, and healthier human–technology interaction.

Private on this deviceThe current pattern
Many smartphones and applications are optimized for engagement, advertising, behavioral data collection, and repeated use. Useful technology becomes difficult to leave without leaving behind connection, navigation, creativity, and work.
AmeronOS explores another model: a platform that considers timing, context, emotional intensity, and personal preferences without shaming people for how they use technology today.
Core principles
Eight principles guide the research and design work behind AmeronOS.
Minimize unnecessary interruption, visual overload, and pressure.
Make permissions, background activity, and AI processing visible and controllable.
Open applications by choice—not because a system engineered a return.
Prioritize, summarize, delay, group, or silence alerts around user-defined needs.
Offer optional controls for emotionally intense, manipulative, or overstimulating content.
Explain AI recommendations and keep every decision subject to user override.
Help people establish their own boundaries without deciding what they may see.
Promote open standards, interoperability, user ownership, and platform independence.
AmeronOS experience
Conceptual features explore how an operating system can protect attention while preserving the value of a capable smartphone.
SPACE 02
Only people and tools you choose may interrupt.
Conceptual interface preview — not completed software
A simplified interface without attention-seeking badges or endless visual prompts.
Distinct environments for work, rest, communication, creativity, study, travel, personal time, and emergencies.
Groups and prioritizes interruptions instead of delivering every alert immediately.
An optional pause to name an intention before opening frequently overused applications.
System-wide rest periods with exceptions for trusted contacts and emergencies.
Neutral insight into time, interruptions, app-opening patterns, notification volume, and personal goals.
Reduce recommendations, autoplay, infinite feeds, trending content, and repetitive prompts where technically possible.
Plain-language access to permissions, sensors, tracking, network activity, background processing, and AI access.
Keep core functions available without constant cloud connectivity whenever practical.
A minimal space for calls, messages, navigation, authentication, camera, calendar, emergencies, and urgent tasks.
User-controlled feeds
Predictive Empathy
AmeronOS is exploring an optional, privacy-preserving AI layer that could estimate possible responses to content before it is fully displayed. It cannot determine a person’s true emotions.
CONTEXTUAL NOTICE
This item may contain distressing imagery and an urgent headline. Choose how it appears.
Possible contextual signals
Estimates could use direct settings, contextual signals, voluntary feedback, and previous user corrections—never certainty about a person’s inner state.
Depending on your settings
The user—not the operating system—chooses which interventions are available.
A user-controlled layer
Predictive Empathy is proposed as optional and disabled unless deliberately enabled. It should be transparent, nonjudgmental, culturally sensitive, accessible across cognitive and sensory needs, and immediately overridable.
YOU CHOOSE
Mental well-being philosophy
AmeronOS is informed by digital-well-being and humane-technology principles. Its purpose is to help people establish their own boundaries while preserving access to useful technology.
There is no universal definition of healthy use. AmeronOS aims to create calmer defaults, make emotional intensity more manageable, and support individual choice without shame.
AmeronOS is a technology concept and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical or mental-health condition.
Privacy & security
These are design commitments, technical goals, planned capabilities, and research priorities—not claims about features already implemented.
No cloud account required for basic screening
Conceptual privacy control panel
Minimal data collection and clear opt-in choices
Local processing whenever technically practical
No advertising-based behavioral profiling
Visible microphone, camera, location, and sensor access
Application isolation and encrypted device data as technical goals
Transparent security updates and background processing
User-controlled cloud synchronization, export, and deletion
Granular, revocable AI and application permissions
No sale of user data or emotional-response predictions
No hidden third-party trackers
Plain-language permission histories and retention controls
Core privacy controls without a cloud account where practical
Predictions should not be sold, shared with data brokers, used to manipulate purchases, or determine employment, credit, insurance, personal worth, or diagnosis. The design should avoid a centralized emotional-surveillance database, keep histories for the shortest user-selected period, allow people to inspect and delete personalization data, and make third-party access granular, visible, and revocable.
Developers & ecosystem
AmeronOS seeks thoughtful collaboration across software, hardware, research, security, accessibility, and human well-being.
notification.intent = "inform"
notification.urgency = userDefined
attention.respect(true)
Open development standards and transparent documentation
Ethical application-design guidance and calm-notification tooling
Compatibility research for existing mobile applications
Privacy-preserving integrations with strict emotional-data restrictions
Independent security, privacy, accessibility, and well-being research
Hardware compatibility and potential open-source components
Preliminary roadmap
The sequence emphasizes research, consent, privacy, accessibility, and technical validation before any broad release planning.
The roadmap is preliminary and may change as technical, financial, regulatory, ethical, and user requirements develop.
About AmeronOS
AmeronOS 亞美荣 is an independent technology initiative developed by Ameron LLC, exploring how mobile computing can better support human attention, privacy, emotional autonomy, and mental clarity.
Its purpose is not to remove technology from everyday life, but to redesign the relationship between people and their devices. The project is investigating whether calmer interfaces, understandable privacy controls, intentional interaction patterns, and optional Predictive Empathy systems can create a healthier mobile-computing experience.
